Shiyi is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech, advised by Dr. Barbara Ryder. He is a member of the PROgramming LANGuageS (PROLANGS) research group at VT. He received B.E. degree in Software Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2009). Shiyi’s general research interests lie in the software engineering and programming languages area. In particular, he is interested in using static and dynamic program analysis techniques for software engineering challenges. Shiyi’s thesis topic is practical analysis of dynamic programming languages, designing analysis frameworks and algorithms to handle the dynamic characteristics of JavaScript.
